IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2016 – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the highly awaited Probationary Officer Examination every year to induct able candidates as PO in the 23 associate banks. IBPS will be releasing the notification regarding the IBPS PO Application form 2016 in the month of August 2016 and the Preliminary examination will be conducted in the month of October. The IBPS PO Eligibility criteria can be summarized in the form of the Age qualification, Nationality and the Educational qualification of the candidates. Let us understand the three types of eligibility criterions which are as follows:

Educational Qualifications:

As per the IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2016, the candidates must follow the following points:
  • The candidates must have in possession a Graduation Degree from any recognized university identified by the UGC and approved by AICTE.
  • The candidates must also have the proper documentation to prove their educational qualification at the time of application.
  • The candidates who are in the final year of their final year of graduation are also eligible to fill the IBPS PO Application form 2016.

Age Qualification:

In general the candidates who want to fill the application form must be aged between 20 years to 30 years of age. However, the constitution of India provides for age relaxation for the reserved categories.
Following table shows the age relaxation criteria for the reserved category candidates:

5 The original habitants of Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period ranging from 01 January 1980 to 31st December 1989 05 years
6 The people affected in the 1984 riots 05 years

Citizenship wise Qualification

The following people are eligible to apply for the IBPS PO Exam as far as the IBPS PO Eligibility criteria is concerned:
  1. Indian Citizen
  2. Nepalese citizen
  3. Bhutanese citizen
  4. Tibetan refugees
  5. Migrated people from various countries provided they have obtained the Indian Citizenship
