UPSC CMS 2016 : Combined Medical Services (UPSC CMS) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of personnel in the medical services & posts under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Dept. of Health), Government of India. It is an important competitive examination for the aspirants willing to get into the government medical services. It is usually held once in a year. UPSC CMS 2016 examination is going to take place in June 2016. The schedule of the CDS 2016 has been published by the Commission as per which the notification is set to be released on 05 March and the application process will commence simultaneously.

UPSC CMS Eligibility Criteria 2016

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates intending to apply must hold the MBBS Degree from an MCI recognized university in India
  • Aspirants appearing in their final year MBBS exam are also eligible to apply
  • Applicants must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 01 January 2016
  • Candidates from India, Nepal and Bhutan can apply 

UPSC CMS Application Form 2016

The application process for UPSC CMS 2016 is slated to be released on 05 March 2016. The applications can be submitted only via online mode. Candidates will have to register themselves online by putting the required details. There is no other mode applicable for the submission of applications. The form will be divided into two parts Part-I and Part-II Registration. Applicants are expected to complete both the parts successfully and make payment of the application fee as per the prescribed mode. 

UPSC CMS Admit Card 2016

The Commission usually release the admit card about three weeks prior to the examination. Therefore, the admit card shall be issued in the third week of May 2016.  The admit card will be issued by the Commission to all the registered candidates, who are supposed to download it from the official website of the Commission. Candidates are required to carry the printed copy of their admit card while appearing in the exam.

 UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2016

The UPSC CMS examination will be held in online mode. There will be two papers in the test. Maximum marks in the both the paper is 250 marks.  Each paper will be assigned the time duration of 02 hours.  Paper- I will be comprised of General Ability, General Medicine and Pediatrics and Paper- II will be comprised of Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics and Preventive & Social medicine. Each paper will be comprised of 120 questions.

UPSC CMS Selection Procedure 2016

The Commission has a pre-defined selection procedure which consists of online examination (Computer-based test) and Personality Test. All the qualified candidates in the exam will be eligible to appear in the Interview cum Personality test comprising of 100 marks.  The Personality test is aimed to test the General Knowledge of the candidates in the fields of their academic study and assess the candidate’s intellectual curiosity, alertness of mind, initiative and capability for leadership etc.

UPSC CMS Answer Key 2016

UPSC published the answer keys for the UPSC CMS Exam. Candidates will be able to access the answer keys for all the sets from the official portal of UPSC only. However, the answer keys from other reliable sources such as leading coaching institutes shall also be made available on this page for the perusal of the candidates. The answer key is a beneficial for all the candidates who take the exam as they can check all the correct answers for the questions attempted by them in the exam.

UPSC CMS Cutoff 2016

 The Commission will decide the minimum qualifying standards/marks  which a candidate is required to secure to qualify the Combined Medical Services (UPSC CMS) examination. The cutoff marks will be decided out of 500. Along with this, candidates will also need to obtain minimum percentage marks in each paper.  Obtaining marks equals to the cutoff as well as the minimum score in each paper is essential to be shortlisted for the Interview cum Personality test.

UPSC CMS Result 2016

The Commission will declare the UPSC CMS 2016 result after the detailed scrutiny of the answer sheets of the candidates. The result is likely to be announced after two months. List of the qualified candidates for Interview will be published on the UPSC’s website. However, the scores obtained by the candidates will be disclosed once the entire process will get over.  Only those candidates will be declared eligible for subsequent round of Interview who will secure the minimum qualifying marks.
